There is immense beauty along the Frontier Pathways Scenic Byway and photographers are being asked to capture the best of it.
The 2016 Frontier Pathways Scenic and Historic Byway’s Photo Contest encourages those who travel along this nationally designated scenic byway to photograph their favorite scenic views and places for possible placement in the 2017 Frontier Byway calendar and website.
The byway’s path starts in Pueblo. Drive west on Colorado 96 through Wetmore to Silver Cliff and Westcliffe. From Westcliffe, return east on Colorado 96 to MacKenzie Junction and then south on Colorado 165 past Bishop Castle, through Rye and Colorado City, and then north on Interstate 25 back to Pueblo.
There are several sessions during which photo submissions are accepted. The winter photo session runs though April 15, with the spring session starting April 16 and ending June 18. The summer session will begin on June 19 and conclude Sept. 2, with the fall session running from Sept. 3 through Oct. 14.
There will be 3 winners for each session and one grand-prize winner. Prizes will include an overnight stay at the Horseshoe Lodge in Beulah, CO or The Lodge at San Isabel near Rye, CO, restaurant and gift certificates, State Fair family passes and Pueblo Zoo family memberships and more.
Send your photos to [email protected]. The photos will be judged and the winning photographs will be featured in our 2017 Frontier Byway calendar and web site.
The contest runs until October 14, so get snapping!
