We have an historic treasure located approx 35 miles east of Wetmore on State Hwy 96 outside of Pueblo.
The Goodnight stone barn was built in 1870 by pioneer cattleman Charles Goodnight as part of his Rock Canyon Ranch. The barn has fallen into disrepair, but full restoration is the goal of the Goodnight Barn Preservation Committee.

Charles Goodnight has a Wetmore connection! He used to winter his cattle in Babcock's Hole because of the abundance of water. This area is now owned by Robert and Joan Hamilton of Wetmore and is a working ranch.
