The roadsides around Wetmore are covered in purple this spring!
They are a variety of Astragalus or milkvetch. They are probably Astragalus bisulcatus (two-grooved milkvetch).
Blooms late spring, early summer. It produces seed pods, and the seeds are released in July and August. The seeds are dark brown or black.
They are toxic to animals, and most are repelled by the musky scent.
Don't eat them, just enjoy their dark purple flowers!
