From the Front Range Interagency Fire Management Center in Cañon City…
The Sand Gulch Fire is now 100% contained. The size of the fire is 495 acres.
The Type 3 management team has returned control of the fire back to the local unit. There are approximately 50 firefighters committed to the fire.
Today, the two Hot Shot crews and one engine are continuing to patrol for hot spots.
This will be the last e-mail Update on the Sand Gulch Fire. The website inciweb.org will be updated daily for the next few days. A dedicated Fire Information line at the District Office will be staffed from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm. That number is 719-269-8723.
