Southern Colorado Economic Development District is hosting a series of town hall meetings across southern Colorado. The Custer County meeting will be held Wednesday, March 9th from 6:00 to 8:00p.m. in the community room at Cliff Lanes.
The town hall discussions and planning sessions are part of the preparation of the Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy. We will provide an overview of Custer Countys economy, discuss the challenges and opportunities and identify projects to promote economic growth and diversification. Attendees will be provided a keypad polling device so that we may obtain maximum feedback from the citizens of your county.
We have had excellent feedback from attendees in other counties. The polling devices encourage people to voice an opinion when they may otherwise prefer not to make a public statement. We will also provide forms to identify projects that may be submitted after the meeting.
The State Regional meeting will be in Salida on March 22nd at the Steamplant from 4pm-6pm. This is Governor Hickenlooper's Bottom up Economic Development Plan. We would like to see as many of you as we can there too.
